Caravel manufactures since the 1950’s
metal and rubber bearings and c
hromium-plated bushes for large water movement machines, for vertical pumps, submersible pumps, turbines, etc.
Its experience is not limited to navigation and cooperation with shipyards and shipbuilders.
Caravel manufactured more than
4,000 different types of bearings with different internal shapes (axial, involute or helicoidal channels), with outer shell made of iron or stainless steel.
Caravel can also supply bearings with
antiabrasive rubber or
Viton rubber: this last kind of rubber is useful to pump hydrocarbons (see the download page of our web site
http://www.caravel.it/ to read and/or download a technical document about these two kinds of rubber).
All these products can be
used in different fields:
agriculture,
nuclear plants,
hydroelectric generating stations,
paper mills,
dredging machines,
turbines etc.
Another important product by Caravel are the
chromium-plated bushes, delivered in brass with a
chromium lining on the outer shell (from 0,06 mm. to 0,20 mm.).
These items are used in order
to protect the vertical pumps shaft from the wear provoked by sand. This system permits very good
savings on the costs of the spare-parts, as it avoids the replacement of the shafts. Our manufacturing quality system permits to obtain a
very small degree of eccentricity. Manufactured in different dimensions: the external clearances are fitted to the connection with metal-rubber bearings, and the internal tolerances are available by request.
Thanks to its experience and well developed Quality System, Caravel is a reliable partner for the most important turbine and pump builders Italy, Europe and all over the world: we are proud to supply all the well-known firms in this field.
