Puller-fitter: shaft lines which mount struts with astern side final stop

A small percantage of shipyards still manufactures shaft lines with struts which have a final stop on their stern side in order to stop the bearing when the ship is moving.
In our opinion this stop has no real technical or mechanical reason as a correct outer diameter tolerance fix the bearing into the strut.
When you have to repalce the bearing you cannot use the puller-fitter: the only way to remove the bearing is to saw it and to twist the outer shell to pull it out.
In presence of this particular type of strut, this operation must be repeated for every periodical bearing replacement.
